James Watson Hostel, men only.
Low care hostel accommodation for 20 residents, 19 permanent residents, one respite bed. Residents must be socially or financially disadvantaged and be assessed as requiring residential care by the Aged Care Assessment Team. Must be accredited under the Aged Care Act 1997 and have ongoing assessment visits.
Noel Bodycoat Care Program (NBC), men and women.
Community aged care support for people living in rented accommodation. Consumers must be financially and/or socially disadvantaged and be assessed as requiring community aged care by the Aged Care Assessment Team.
Assistance with Care and Housing for the Aged Program (ACHA), men and women.
The ACHA Program is designed to assist frail, low income older people who are renting, live in insecure housing or who are homeless, to remain in the community through accessing appropriate housing linked community aged care.
State funded through the Health Department plus board from residents/tenants.
Services are only provided through the appropriate mental health catchment area.
Crisis/Respite Accommodation, men and women
Three crisis units accommodating 6 people each in a duplex pair. The duplexes are located at Cannington, Midland and Kwinana. These units accommodate people who have a mental illness and are experiencing a crisis including homelessness.
Clients stay up to 3 months in Cannington and Midland and can stay up to 6 months in Kwinana with additional mental health input.
Independent Living Program, men and women
Provides accommodation and services in houses or units for people with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Houses / units are built and provided by the Ministry of Housing and Works – St Bartholomew’s House head leases each building and pays rent to the Ministry of Housing and Works for each tenant. Additional properties are provided each year.
Single and shared accommodation, including meals and laundry facilities.
Appleton and Peter Hodge Hostels
Provides accommodation and support for men who are experiencing a crisis and/or homelessness. Residents are admitted off the street, from other agencies or referred through hospitals and treatment centres. Residents must be able to live independently. (Drugs & Alcohol are not permitted on the premises.)
Exit Houses
Residents who are currently residing in the Appleton Hostels or Peter Hodge Hostel may move into the exit program, once they become socially and financially independent. A number of properties, head leased by St Bartholomew's House from the Ministry of Housing and Works, offer accommodation for men who require some support to live independently.
