All new residents to the James Watson Hostel must have had an Aged Care Assessment (A.C.A.T.) and if possible a pre-entry interview and introduction.
Admission particulars are completed by the Co-ordinator involving resident and representatives if possible.
New residents are given a Resident Agreement, a copy of the Conditions of Occupancy, a Residents’ Handbook and a copy of the Privacy Act. The Resident Agreement and the signed copy of the Privacy Act are to be returned to the Co-ordinator within twenty one days of admission.
Aged Care
Provision of hostel accommodation for twenty frail-aged men who are financially or socially disadvantaged (nineteen permanent places with one respite bed.)
The James Watson Hostel is located in the Brown Street complex and contains two buildings of eight rooms with en-suites.
This accommodation is provided for men who require twenty-four hour support and assistance with daily living skills and maintains standards as set down in the Aged Care Act 1997.
